About the role#
This internship offers an introduction to insurance claims handling. You will learn how to investigate losses, determine coverage, and resolve claims while working with agents and policyholders. This is a paid, part-time position for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Investigate and assemble facts regarding claims.
- Determine policy coverage and evaluate the amount of loss.
- Analyze legal liability to pay or deny losses.
- Study insurance policies, endorsements, and forms.
- Work toward the resolution of claims, including attending arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials.
- Ensure claims payments are issued accurately and on time.
- Handle investigations via phone, mail, and on-site visits.
- Service the needs of agents and policyholders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in college, entering your junior or senior year.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to resolve complex issues and organize data.
- Capacity to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship.
