About the role#
Atoms is seeking an Operations Intern to support our scaling production efforts for autonomous mining and transport divisions. You will manage procurement, inventory systems, and supply chain strategy while working directly with senior leadership to optimize our new 30,000 sq ft facility. This is a full-time, paid, on-site role with rolling availability.
What you'll do#
- Procure critical components, including custom machined parts, GPUs, and circuit boards, from domestic and international suppliers.
- Manage lead times, supplier relationships, and supply chain constraints.
- Advise the CFO and CTO on procurement strategies, potential bottlenecks, and supply chain risks.
- Design and maintain parts tracking and inventory classification systems using an ABC analysis framework.
- Oversee a monthly procurement budget of over $400,000 across multiple bills of materials.
- Help establish inventory management and Manufacturing OS frameworks for our new facility.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Masters program in Finance, Business, Operations Research, or a related field.
- Experience in operations, supply chain, investment banking, or similar high-pressure environments.
- Ability to work with ambiguity and a history of creating structure in disorganized settings.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate across engineering, finance, and operations teams.
- High attention to detail and a track record as a fast learner.
- Immediate or flexible availability to start.
- Previous experience in supply chain or manufacturing is helpful but not required.

- Location: San Francisco, California.
- Modality: This position is 100% on-site, five days a week.
- Compensation: The base salary is $20.00 per hour.
