About the role#
Emerson is hiring a Material Planning and Inventory Intern for the Winter 2027 term. This full-time, paid internship supports our Systems and Software business group. You will work on projects designed to improve supply chain operations and overall business efficiency. This role is based on-site in either Knoxville, Tennessee, or St. Louis, Missouri.
What you'll do#
- Identify planning methods, tools, and programs to optimize material flow.
- Use business system tools like ERP and MRP to support operational demands.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to automate and improve existing processes.
- Research industry best practices and apply data analytics to business challenges.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of business workflows and influencers within a global organization.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university as a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student.
- Pursuit of a degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or Engineering (Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial).
- Legal authorization to work in the United States. Please note that sponsorship is not provided for this position.
- Previous internship experience in a professional environment is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, such as involvement in student organizations.
- Proficiency in data analytics and strong communication skills.
- A strategic mindset, self-motivation, and an innovative approach to problem-solving.
- An appreciation for risk management.
