About the role#
The Epidemiology & Real-World Science (Epi-RWS) team is seeking a master’s-level student for a full-time, eight-month internship. You will support the Hematology, Nephrology, and Neurology therapeutic areas from January through August 2027. This role contributes to initiatives that inform clinical development, medical affairs, regulatory strategy, and commercial planning.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to epidemiology and real-world science activities, including short-term deliverables that support broader strategy.
- Lead or support the development of descriptive epidemiologic analysis concepts, study plans, protocols, and project documentation.
- Conduct structured literature searches and critically appraise epidemiologic publications.
- Synthesize research findings into clear evidence summaries.
- Participate in meetings with colleagues across Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Safety, Regulatory, and Commercial functions.
- Present project updates, lessons learned, and key findings to Epi-RWS colleagues and stakeholders.
- Maintain regular check-ins with your manager and engage in team discussions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a master’s degree program in Epidemiology, Public Health, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date after August 2027.
- Status as a student returning to school after the internship or requiring this placement for academic credit.
- Graduate-level coursework in epidemiology, including observational research design, biostatistics, or data analysis.
- Experience with epidemiologic data analysis and tools such as SAS, R, Python, or SQL.
- Experience conducting literature searches using PubMed or Embase.
- Familiarity with primary or secondary epidemiologic research, observational study designs, and protocol development.
- Exposure to healthcare databases or large observational datasets.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, eight-month contract.
- The role is based in Mississauga, Ontario.
- This position follows a hybrid work model, requiring presence at the Mississauga office approximately two to three days per week.
