About the role#
This is a 16-month co-op position based in Waterdown, Ontario. You will manage production inventory levels and create solutions to prevent stock increases. You will investigate inventory anomalies and work with departments across the organization to develop and execute mitigation plans. The role focuses on maintaining reports for key performance indicators and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Identify opportunities to avoid or reduce inventory.
- Collaborate with departments to drive inventory reduction.
- Generate, manage, and control inventory metric reports.
- Measure specific inventory categories against key metrics.
- Analyze metrics and provide recommendations to improve performance.
- Manage obsolete inventory through sales, rework, or scrap processes.
- Assist in forecasting stock levels.
- Manage and reduce excess MRP inventory.
- Participate on inventory-focused project teams.
- Evaluate how changes in demand and configurations relate to overall stock and stranded inventory.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a college or university business program.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and general data analysis capability.
- Strong understanding of inventory and production control processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A results-oriented approach to problem solving.
- Knowledge of SQL is an asset.
