About the role#
As a Reliability Test Intern, you will work directly with our engineering teams to ensure our satellite hardware performs under demanding conditions. You will help plan and run tests that verify our designs against mission requirements. This role involves hands-on work in the lab, where you will manage test setups and analyze the data they produce.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan reliability tests for satellite hardware.
- Support the development of test plans and procedures based on design specifications.
- Set up, operate, and monitor environmental test equipment, including thermal chambers, thermal vacuum systems, and vibration shaker tables.
- Execute reliability tests such as thermal cycling and vibration testing.
- Collect, analyze, and document test data to identify potential failure modes.
- Design test fixtures and set up instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing project needs.
- Strong communication skills.
- Hands-on experience with environmental or reliability testing is a plus.
- Familiarity with test equipment such as chambers and DAQs.
- Experience with data analysis tools like Python or MATLAB.
- Exposure to hardware design, integration, or lab-based projects.
- Understanding of failure analysis, root cause investigation, or reliability engineering principles.
- Previous internship, research, or project experience in aerospace or hardware-focused environments.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship located on-site in San Francisco, California.
- You must be available to work on-site 5 days per week.
- The term for this internship is Summer 2027.
- The base pay for this position is $29.00 per hour.
