About the role#
The Harness Manufacturing Intern will support the design, build, and improvement of wire harness and cable assembly processes. You will gain hands-on experience in a production environment, working with manufacturing documentation, quality systems, and process optimization for low to medium volume production.
What you'll do#
- Assist with wire harness and cable assembly builds, including cutting, stripping, crimping, labeling, and lacing.
- Support manufacturing engineers with process documentation and work instruction reviews.
- Participate in quality inspections and help analyze manufacturing issues like defects, rework, and throughput constraints.
- Assist with equipment qualification, tooling and fixture improvements, and test setups.
- Collect and review production data to support process improvement initiatives.
- Provide feedback to engineering teams regarding design for manufacturing and assembly (DFM/DFA).
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a four-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Hands-on design and development experience.
- Familiarity with spacecraft systems and operations.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work onsite 5 days a week.

- Location: San Francisco, California.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Pay: $29.00 per hour.
- This is a full-time, on-site internship.
