About the role#
As an Environmental Test Engineer Intern, you will join an interdisciplinary team to design, build, and test satellite hardware and software. This role provides hands-on experience with satellite systems and test execution. You will work directly with hardware that is intended for space flight.
What you'll do#
- Set up and operate environmental test equipment, including ambient thermal chambers, Thermal Vacuum Chambers (TVAC), vibration shaker tables, and EMI/EMC test equipment.
- Conduct environmental testing across multiple disciplines, such as vibration, acoustics, thermal, thermal vacuum, and RF.
- Learn to use test instruments like DAQs and oscilloscopes to execute test plans.
What you'll need#
- A four-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent technical degree.
- Familiarity with spacecraft systems and operation.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize your time effectively.
- Strong communication skills.
- A passion for hardware development and hands-on design.
- You must be able to work on-site 5 days a week.
- You must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or other protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
