About the role#
As a Harness Design Engineer Intern, you will work with the harnessing design team to create flight and test hardware. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027. You will contribute to meaningful projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system interfaces.
What you'll do#
- Design flight and test harnessing.
- Create wiring diagrams, block diagrams, schematics, and layout drawings for spacecraft.
- Use CAD programs to route harnessing in 3D.
- Select design components based on voltage, power, frequency, and data-rate requirements.
- Collaborate with the production team to fabricate in-house cables.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in mechatronics, electrical engineering, or an equivalent technical degree.
- Familiarity with power and data transmission concepts.
- Interest in designing and working with various spacecraft systems.
- Experience with 3D CAD software like Solidworks is preferred.
- Experience with Zuken or other harness design software is a plus.
- Experience with various connectors and wire types, including MIL circular and D-Sub/microD, is a plus.

- Pay: $29.00 per hour.
- Requirements: U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or refugee/asylee status is required to comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations.
