About the role#
Astranis is hiring a Power Electronics Intern for the Winter 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in San Francisco. Interns work on flight hardware and contribute to meaningful satellite projects alongside our engineering team.
What you'll do#
- Build and test flight hardware with the power engineering team.
- Design prototype circuits and test equipment to validate designs under stressed conditions.
- Bring up and debug designs in the lab.
- Write code to evaluate performance and automate satellite hardware testing.
- Coordinate assembly, integration, and environmental test efforts.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a B.S. in electrical or computer engineering or an equivalent technical degree.
- Demonstrated ability to personally design, build, and test hardware from scratch.
- Interest in designing and working with power electronics systems.
- Experience with Altium Designer or other PCB design software.
- Experience with SPICE-based simulators such as LTSpice, PSPICE, or ADS.
- Proficiency with Python.
- Comfort with soldering, rework, and standard EE lab equipment like power supplies, oscilloscopes, and multimeters.
- Familiarity with basic switched mode converter design, including boost and buck converters.

- Term: Winter 2027.
- Compensation: $29.00 per hour.
- Requirements: This role requires U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or protected individual status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) to comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations.
