About the role#
The Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) team at Muon handles all spacecraft GNC systems, from sensor and actuator selection to flight software. As a hardware intern, you will own a project from start to finish. This involves developing a new testing capability for a GNC component. You will work directly with the team to design GNC systems for our spacecraft.
What you'll do#
- Take ownership of a new or existing test capability.
- Design, improve, and automate test setups and ground support equipment.
- Conduct analysis to support both development and testing phases.
- Engage in testing and measurement activities in the lab, either on the bench or in a clean room environment.
What you'll need#
- Classwork in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or applied physics.
- Basic programming skills.
- Experience with hardware/software integration or mechatronics projects.
- Interest in spacecraft attitude sensors and actuators.
- Previous internship or co-op experience.
- Experience on technical project teams, such as rocket clubs, formula SAE, or solar car teams.

- This internship is based in Mountain View, California.
- The role is full-time and on-site.
- The program runs during the summer of 2027, between May and September.
