About the role#
This internship is a twelve-week, full-time position for students currently enrolled in a four-year university. You will join our team to work on hardware development for our spacecraft. Interns at Astranis take on meaningful projects, and many past interns have contributed to hardware that is now in space.
What you'll do#
- Design, simulate, implement, and measure passive and active RF sub-systems at microwave frequencies, including LNAs, power amplifiers, up/down converters, filters, and oscillators.
- Integrate your systems into the spacecraft by working closely with the broader engineering team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's Degree program in electrical engineering, physics, applied physics, or a related technical field.
- Deep knowledge of RF concepts such as transmission lines, impedance matching, filter design, and active RF circuits.
- Hands-on experience designing, building, and testing RF hardware for microwave frequencies.
- Proficiency with RF simulation tools like ADS or HFSS.
- Experience taking RF measurements using spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and network analyzers.
- A strong interest in hands-on hardware development.

- Compensation: $29.00 per hour.
- Eligibility: This role requires U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or refugee/asylee status to comply with U.S. government space technology export regulations.
