About the role#
Astranis is looking for a CAD Engineer/Librarian Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site, paid role based in San Francisco. You will work on hardware development projects alongside our engineering team.
What you'll do#
- Model and draw components, structures, and manifolds for our spacecraft and supporting structures.
- Maintain and improve our design library and data infrastructure.
- Develop, ideate, and document practices that enable efficient design.
What you'll need#
- A B.S. degree or current enrollment in an M.S. program for mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, applied math, or industrial design.
- Experience with SolidWorks, GD+T, and engineering drawings.
- A focus on hardware development and hands-on work.
- Bonus points for experience with complex assemblies, spaceflight components, vacuum compatible systems, or surface modeling.
- To comply with U.S. government export regulations, you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
