About the role#
The Assurant Internship Program is a 12-week immersive experience designed to provide real-world exposure to product strategy and execution. As a Product Analyst Intern for the Housing team, you will support the development and improvement of voluntary homeowners and condominium insurance products. You will work alongside experienced professionals to analyze product performance, identify market trends, and turn data into actionable insights.
What you'll do#
- Analyze product performance, profitability, customer needs, and market trends to identify risks and opportunities.
- Create reports and visualizations to share findings with team members and business partners.
- Conduct competitive and market research to support product decisions.
- Assist in the development of business requirements, user stories, workflows, and product documentation.
- Gain exposure to the full product lifecycle, from planning and quality assurance to regulatory filing and post-launch analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Actuarial, Underwriting, Sales, and Technology.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing products, reporting, and team processes.
- Participate in meetings, contribute to assigned projects, and share your ideas.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Risk/Insurance, Finance, Business Administration, Marketing, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Economics, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2029.
- Interest in product analysis, market research, insurance, or product development.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple assignments.
- A willingness to learn, accept feedback, and collaborate with others.
- Experience working with data through coursework, academic projects, or student organizations.
- Familiarity with data visualization concepts or tools.
- Exposure to SQL, Power BI, or similar reporting tools is helpful.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, remote internship.
- The program runs from May 17, 2027, to August 8, 2027.
- This position is paid at $25 per hour.
- Applicants must be work authorized in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future.
