About the role#
The Assurant Internship Program is a 12-week immersive experience designed to build foundational technical and business skills. As a Data Support Analyst Intern, you will support department systems and staff by recommending and implementing enhancements that promote efficiency and growth. You will gain real-world experience by tackling business challenges and contributing to project assignments of low to medium complexity.
What you'll do#
- Maintain and monitor production applications, processes, and data.
- Analyze, maintain, and support system files, tables, and configurations.
- Extract data from internal and external sources, including Excel, delimited files, fixed width files, APIs, and SQL Server databases.
- Support scheduled and ad hoc report requests while validating data integrity.
- Participate in the definition of business and functional requirements.
- Prepare test plans and scripts, and perform user acceptance testing.
- Develop user documentation and training materials.
- Coordinate production implementation efforts with the user community and IT.
- Apply project management principles to prioritize and manage multiple assignments.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in extracting and analyzing data using SQL, Excel, and Power BI.
- Ability to manage time-sensitive data and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strong organization and self-motivation skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with various stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt to different project roles, such as analyst, tester, or documentation writer.
Location & details#
- This is a remote, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
- Candidates must be work-authorized in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for employer sponsorship.
