About the role#
The Assurant Internship Program is a 12-week immersive experience designed to build technical and business skills. As an AI and Data Science Intern, you will join our GenAI specialist team to support the Advanced Data Analytics group. You will tackle business challenges, develop analytical tools for clients, and create internal solutions to address specific business problems.
What you'll do#
- Process and analyze industrial-scale data on big data platforms, including Azure AI and Databricks.
- Design, develop, and implement deep learning, computer vision, and language-modeling algorithms.
- Develop Large Language Model and Generative AI capabilities, including evaluating models using statistical tests, business metrics, and bias measures.
- Design and implement AI agents or intelligent systems that automate complex workflows using frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, and RAG pipelines.
- Operationalize AI-powered pipelines using LLMOps, CI/CD, and governance standards.
- Build chatbot interfaces using RAG and Agentic AI capabilities.
- Create Power BI and PowerPoint presentations to communicate analytical insights to leadership.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and assist with process mapping and standard operating procedures.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in the third or fourth year of an undergraduate program in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Management, or Information Systems, with at least two years completed.
- Candidates pursuing a master’s or Ph.D. in related technical fields are also encouraged to apply.
- Two years of experience with Excel, Power BI or Tableau, and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency with SQL, including tables, indexing, joins, and window functions.
- Familiarity with Python or R and libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-Learn, Matplotlib, and Seaborn.
- Understanding of advanced statistics, probability, machine-learning algorithms, and Generative AI techniques.
- Ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and communicate clearly.
- Preferred experience includes work with big data, deep-learning frameworks, cloud platforms like Azure or AWS, and tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, or GitHub.

- This is a full-time, paid remote internship based in Atlanta, Georgia.
- The program runs from May 17, 2027, to August 8, 2027.
