    About the role#

    This internship provides support to the Environmental Health and Safety department at our medical device manufacturing facility in Pendleton, South Carolina. You will gain functional experience by assisting safety professionals and engineers with daily tasks and regulatory compliance. This is a paid, part-time position running from January 2027 through April 2027. We are looking for someone available to work 20 to 30 hours per week.

    What you'll do#

    • Perform complex equipment machine safety validations using checklists.
    • Evaluate the adequacy of safety controls, including PPE and engineering standards, against OSHA requirements.
    • Help develop and review basic safety training materials, including documentation and scheduling.
    • Conduct basic Job Hazard Analysis and Chemical Hazard Analysis.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program for Occupational Safety and Health, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Environmental Engineering.
    • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
    • Basic to intermediate computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
