About the role#
This co-op position supports the Surgical Planning, Execution, and Anatomic Restoration (SPEAR) team in Naples, Florida. You will work with engineers and cross-functional teams to assist in the development, testing, and validation of patient-specific surgical technologies. This role provides direct exposure to the medical device development lifecycle and runs from January 2027 through June 2027.
What you'll do#
- Support product development studies and research use cases.
- Design basic frame shapes and 3D print examples to test fit on bone models.
- Assist with designs for cadaver lab evaluations.
- Perform post-op cadaver lab specimen segmentation and analyze the resulting data.
- Review workflow instructions and support surgical planning efforts.
- Help with design verification activities, technical investigations, and documentation.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a full-time junior or senior in an engineering bachelor's program, or recent graduation within the last six months.
- Preference for Biomedical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering majors.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic to intermediate computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Preferred experience includes CAD software (SolidWorks or NX), 3D printing, and software macro creation or automation.
