About the role#
The Student Worker Lead oversees daily food operations at the Florida State University Chick-fil-A location. This role involves supervising team members, managing food safety standards, and ensuring the kitchen runs efficiently. You will act as a mentor to other student workers while maintaining the quality and service standards expected by the department.
What you'll do#
- Create and manage staff work schedules and direct daily activities.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate team members to promote efficiency and teamwork.
- Monitor food production to ensure safety, quality, and adherence to health codes.
- Maintain accurate weekly inventory and prepare supply orders.
- Perform equipment maintenance checks and track logs for necessary repairs.
- Fill in for absent employees and assist with cashier duties when needed.
- Coordinate catering event preparation and delivery.
- Attend staff meetings and maintain clear communication with the wider team.
- Work occasional night and weekend events as required.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at the Aramark location.
- Ability to read, write, and understand verbal instructions.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle basic arithmetic.
- Capability to remain calm and maintain emotional control under stress.
- Aptitude for resolving interpersonal situations and promoting positive public relations.
- Knowledge of operating an efficient, cost-effective program.
- Completion of a sanitation course, either before starting or during your first year.
- Majors in Business Administration or Operations Management are preferred.
