About the role#
The Student Worker Lead oversees daily food operations at the Texas State University location. This role involves supervising team members, managing inventory, and ensuring that food service meets safety and quality standards. You will coordinate schedules and support the management team to keep the facility running efficiently.
What you'll do#
- Create and maintain work schedules while preparing production records.
- Supervise, evaluate, and mentor food service staff to encourage teamwork and efficiency.
- Manage weekly inventory and prepare orders to ensure consistent production.
- Oversee food safety and sanitation, ensuring the kitchen and serving areas remain hazard-free.
- Fill in for absent staff and assist with catering events as needed, including some nights and weekends.
- Handle equipment maintenance logs and perform preventative checks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at the Aramark location.
- Ability to read, write, and understand verbal instructions.
- Basic arithmetic skills for inventory and production tasks.
- Completion of a sanitation course, either before starting or during your first year.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
- Capacity to maintain emotional control under stress and resolve interpersonal situations.
