About the role#
The Student Worker - General Utility Worker role supports kitchen operations by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation. This position is open to students across various disciplines, including Environmental Engineering, Business Administration, Human Resources, Nutrition, and Kinesiology. This is a paid, full-time summer 2026 opportunity.
What you'll do#
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation for all dishes, pots, pans, silverware, glasses, and kitchen utensils.
- Keep the dishwashing station and three-compartment sink areas clean and organized.
- Monitor equipment to ensure it is in working condition and report any maintenance issues to management.
- Perform light maintenance and custodial tasks as assigned.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude toward guests, clients, and co-workers.
- Adhere to company safety policies, including proper food safety procedures and the security of company assets.
What you'll need#
- Understanding of basic sanitation procedures.
- Ability to follow safety protocols, specifically regarding the handling of hazardous chemicals.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to meet physical demands, such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing.
- Willingness to wear required uniforms or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
