About the role#
This student worker position supports food service operations at Texas State University. You will work on-site to help with food preparation and customer service. This is a paid, full-time role with rolling start dates.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and build food items following standardized recipes.
- Store food properly according to established standards.
- Set up, break down, clean, and sanitize workstations.
- Serve food to customers while ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Replenish food items and maintain stock levels.
- Maintain a positive demeanor when interacting with guests and co-workers.
- Follow all safety policies, including food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Ensure the security of company assets.
What you'll need#
- Ability to obtain or hold a food safety certification.
- Demonstrated guest service skills.
- Previous food service experience is preferred.
- Ability to handle physical demands, such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking.
- Willingness to wear a uniform or use personal protective equipment.
- This role is open to students in Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Nutrition, and Kinesiology.
