About the role#
This student position involves supporting food service and catering operations on the University at Albany campus. The role focuses on food preparation, safety compliance, and providing quality service to guests. This is a paid, full-time position for the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and assemble food items following standardized recipes and instructions.
- Store food products properly according to established standards.
- Serve food to customers while anticipating their needs and ensuring satisfaction.
- Set up, break down, clean, and sanitize workstations including prep tables and service counters.
- Replenish food items and maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Adhere to safety policies, including food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Maintain a positive demeanor and provide excellent service to guests and coworkers.
What you'll need#
- Ability to obtain or hold a food safety certification.
- Demonstrated guest service skills.
- Previous food service experience is preferred.
- Ability to meet physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking.
- Willingness to wear uniforms or personal protective equipment as required.
- This position is open to students in Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Public Health, Nutrition, and Kinesiology.
