About the role#
This student worker position supports food service and catering operations on the University at Albany campus. The role focuses on food preparation, safety compliance, and delivering quality customer service to the campus community.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and build food items following standardized recipes and directions.
- Serve food to customers while anticipating their needs and ensuring satisfaction.
- Store food items properly according to established standards.
- Set up, break down, clean, and sanitize workstations including service counters and prep tables.
- Replenish food stock to maintain appropriate levels.
- Maintain a positive demeanor and provide excellent service to guests and coworkers.
- Adhere to safety policies, including food safety and sanitation procedures.
What you'll need#
- Ability to obtain or possess a food safety certification.
- Strong guest service skills.
- Previous food service experience is preferred.
- Ability to meet physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking.
- Willingness to wear uniforms or personal protective equipment as required.
- This role is open to students across various fields of study, including Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Public Health, Nutrition, and Kinesiology.
