About the role#
This position provides an opportunity for students to gain experience in food service and catering operations at the ASU campus. This is a paid, full-time role available for the Summer 2026 term. We welcome students from various academic backgrounds, including Nutrition, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Public Health, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Communications, and Human Resources.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and build food items following standardized recipes and directions.
- Set up workstations, including prep tables, service counters, hot wells, and steam tables.
- Serve food to customers and focus on guest satisfaction.
- Properly store food items and maintain inventory levels.
- Clean and sanitize workstations as needed.
- Follow safety policies and sanitation procedures.
What you'll need#
- Ability to demonstrate guest service skills.
- Willingness to obtain or maintain a food safety certification.
- Previous food service experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to meet physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking.
- Compliance with uniform and personal protective equipment requirements.
