About the role#
This is a student worker position within food service and catering at Mount St. Mary's University. You will assist with daily food preparation and service operations while gaining experience in a professional environment. This is a paid, on-site role with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and build food items by following standardized recipes and directions.
- Set up workstations, including prep tables, service counters, hot wells, and steam tables.
- Serve food to customers and ensure guest satisfaction.
- Break down, clean, and sanitize workstations after use.
- Replenish food items and maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Follow safety policies and procedures regarding food safety and sanitation.
- Maintain a positive demeanor with guests, customers, and co-workers.
- Ensure the security of company assets.
What you'll need#
- Previous food service experience is preferred.
- Ability to obtain or hold a food safety certification.
- Strong guest service skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking.
- Willingness to wear uniforms or use personal protective equipment as required.
