About the role#
This student worker position involves supporting food service and catering operations on campus. You will assist with daily kitchen and service tasks while gaining experience in food preparation, safety standards, and customer service. This is a paid, full-time opportunity available for the Summer 2026 term, open to students across various disciplines including Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Nutrition, and Human Resources.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and assemble food items following standardized recipes and instructions.
- Set up, break down, clean, and sanitize workstations, including prep tables and service counters.
- Serve food to customers, anticipate guest needs, and ensure high levels of satisfaction.
- Maintain proper food storage and ensure product levels are replenished.
- Adhere to all safety policies, including food safety and sanitation procedures, and ensure the security of company assets.
- Maintain a professional and positive demeanor when interacting with guests, clients, and team members.
What you'll need#
- Demonstrated guest service skills.
- Ability to obtain or hold a food safety certification.
- Previous food service experience is preferred.
- Ability to meet physical requirements, such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking.
- Willingness to wear a uniform or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
