About the role#
This student worker position supports food service and catering operations on the Mississippi State University campus. The role is open to students across various fields of study, including Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Nursing, Public Health, Nutrition, and Kinesiology. This is a paid, on-site position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and build food items using standardized recipes and instructions.
- Store food products according to safety and sanitation standards.
- Serve food to customers while maintaining a positive demeanor.
- Set up, break down, and sanitize workstations including prep tables and service counters.
- Replenish food items and maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Follow company safety policies and ensure the security of assets.
What you'll need#
- Ability to obtain or hold a food safety certification.
- Strong guest service skills.
- Previous food service experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to wear a uniform or required personal protective equipment.
