About the role#
This is an on-site, paid student worker position in food service at Mississippi State University. The role is available on a rolling basis and is open to students across various fields of study, including Nutrition, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Sociology, and Health Administration.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and build food items following standardized recipes and directions.
- Properly store food according to established safety standards.
- Set up, break down, clean, and sanitize workstations including prep tables, service counters, and steam tables.
- Serve food to customers while ensuring guest satisfaction and anticipating needs.
- Replenish food items to ensure appropriate stock levels.
- Adhere to safety policies, including food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Maintain a positive demeanor and ensure the security of company assets.
What you'll need#
- Previous food service experience is preferred.
- Must possess or be willing to acquire a food safety certification.
- Strong guest service skills.
- Ability to meet physical demands, such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing.
- Willingness to wear a uniform or use personal protective equipment as required.
