About the role#
This is an on-site, paid student worker position in food service at Mississippi State University. This role is open to students across various fields of study, including Nutrition, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Sociology, and Health Administration. The position operates on a rolling basis.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and build food items using standardized recipes and instructions.
- Store food properly in accordance with safety standards.
- Set up, break down, clean, and sanitize workstations such as prep tables and service counters.
- Serve food to customers and ensure guest satisfaction by anticipating needs.
- Replenish and stock food items to appropriate levels.
- Maintain a positive demeanor and provide excellent customer service to guests and co-workers.
- Adhere to safety policies, including food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Ensure the security of company assets.
What you'll need#
- Previous food service experience is preferred.
- Ability to obtain or hold a food safety certification.
- Strong guest service skills.
- Ability to meet physical demands, which may include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing.
- Ability to wear required uniforms or personal protective equipment.
