About the role#
This is a full-time, paid student worker position based at the University of South Carolina in Columbia for the Summer 2026 term. This role is open to students pursuing degrees in Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Human Resources, Nursing, Public Health, or Kinesiology.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and build food items following standardized recipes and instructions.
- Store food properly according to established safety standards.
- Set up, break down, clean, and sanitize workstations including prep tables and service counters.
- Serve food to customers while ensuring guest satisfaction and anticipating needs.
- Replenish food items to maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Maintain a positive demeanor and provide excellent service to guests, clients, and coworkers.
- Adhere to safety policies, including food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Ensure the security of company assets.
What you'll need#
- Ability to obtain or hold a food safety certification.
- Demonstrated guest service skills.
- Previous food service experience is preferred.
- Ability to meet physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking.
- Willingness to wear a uniform or Personal Protective Equipment as required.
