About the role#
As a Student Worker Barista, you will prepare specialty beverages and manage daily transactions at the coffee bar. This role focuses on providing consistent service and maintaining a clean environment for customers. You will work on-site at the University of Arkansas in Pine Bluff.
What you'll do#
- Greet customers and assist them with their orders.
- Prepare coffees, teas, and specialty beverages according to brand standards.
- Operate the register and process cash and credit card transactions.
- Count and balance your cash drawer, complete cashier slips, and make deposits.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary work area and follow all health and safety guidelines.
- Stock beverage coolers, grab and go items, and service ware.
- Set up and break down the coffee bar and service stations.
What you'll need#
- Ability to read and communicate in English.
- Basic math and counting skills.
- Capacity to work independently with limited supervision.
- Previous experience in customer service or cash handling is preferred.
- Previous experience as a barista is a plus.
- Ability to complete Food Handling Certification.
- Willingness to follow dress code requirements and use personal protective equipment.
- Physical ability to perform tasks like lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
