About the role#
The Main POD Student Worker position is an on-site role based at Tennessee State University. This is a paid, full-time position with a rolling term. Students from the following majors are encouraged to apply: Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Nursing, Public Health, Chemistry, and Nutrition.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and build food items according to standardized recipes and directions.
- Properly store food in accordance with established standards.
- Set up workstations including prep tables, service counters, hot wells, and steam tables.
- Serve food to customers while ensuring guest satisfaction and anticipating needs.
- Replenish food items and ensure products are stocked to appropriate levels.
- Break down, clean, and sanitize workstations.
- Maintain a positive demeanor toward guests, clients, and co-workers.
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures, including food safety and sanitation.
- Ensure the security of company assets.
What you'll need#
- Demonstrated guest service skills.
- Ability to obtain or possess a food safety certification.
- Previous food service experience is preferred.
- Ability to meet physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking.
- Willingness to wear uniforms or Personal Protective Equipment as required.
