About the role#
Applied Materials is seeking a Chemist Co-Op to join the PPB team at the CTO office. This role is based in Santa Clara, California, and requires a six-month commitment on-site. You will work within the semiconductor manufacturing industry, supporting material screening and chemical analysis projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist with inorganic, organic, and polymer material screening, characterization, and metrology work.
- Safely handle various chemicals in a laboratory environment.
- Lead small development projects focused on chemical characterization, screening, and quality control.
- Conduct testing and analysis of materials and chemicals.
- Maintain accurate and detailed lab records.
- Support process engineers with material and chemical requirements.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, material science, polymer science, or a related field.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
- Ability to be physically present in Santa Clara, CA for a 6-month duration.
- Experience in materials characterization or analytical chemistry is preferred.
- A quick learning ability.
