About the role#
Applied Materials is seeking interns for the Global Supply Chain department during the summer of 2027. You will work within the supply chain group for 12 weeks, supporting Supplier Account Managers, Procurement and Materials Managers, and Supply Chain Analytics teams. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Gloucester, Massachusetts.
What you'll do#
- Complete supplier request for quotations.
- Perform buyer functions, including creating, re-scheduling, and cancelling purchase orders based on MRP requirements.
- Interact with suppliers to identify cost reduction opportunities.
- Conduct MRP and spend analytics to optimize business practices.
- Provide material delivery updates to factory stakeholders and leadership.
- Support supplier management tasks, such as preparing for quarterly business reviews and supplier capacity reviews.
- Resolve discrepancies related to purchase order invoices and receipts.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or Business Administration.
- A preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.
- Data analytics skills, including advanced Excel and experience working with multiple data sets.
- Ability to problem-solve creatively and analytically.
- Strong listening, writing, and oral communication skills.
- Valid work authorization for the duration of the internship. Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
