About the role#
The Geology Intern joins the Exploration and Resource Development team to support geological programs for our Nevada Projects. This is a project-based role where you own a technical assignment from start to finish. You will work alongside our team to gain hands-on experience, concluding with a final technical report and presentation to leadership.
What you'll do#
- Manage a dedicated 12-week project, including timeline management and final reporting.
- Conduct detailed geological logging of drill core and RC chips.
- Execute field data collection and maintain accurate geological records.
- Assist in compiling and interpreting geological, geochemical, and drilling data.
- Support field exploration operations, such as mapping, sampling, and data analysis.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a rising senior in an Undergraduate program, or as a final-year Master's or PhD student.
- Pursuit of a degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Foundational knowledge of mineral exploration, geological mapping, core logging, and sampling.
- Familiarity with or interest in epithermal and Carlin-type gold systems.
- Proficiency or interest in GIS and geological software.
- Strong skills in technical writing, reporting, and presenting findings.
- Ability to analyze datasets and draw logical conclusions.
- A collaborative mindset.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- A valid driver's license.
