About the role#
The Digital Engineering team builds and maintains manufacturing applications used in production facilities across global operations. You will work on a small team that supports 27 applications across two continents. This role provides an opportunity to work at the intersection of software development and manufacturing technology. You will gain exposure to both technical and business stakeholders while taking ownership of meaningful project work.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to application modernization and software development initiatives.
- Gather requirements and develop solutions for manufacturing operations.
- Enhance existing applications and support continuous improvement efforts.
- Migrate legacy systems to newer technologies and platforms.
- Update application functionality, test solutions, and support implementation.
- Develop applications used on the manufacturing floor that interface with scales and measurement devices.
What you'll need#
- Undergraduate status having completed your sophomore or junior year by the start of the internship.
- Anticipated graduation date between August 2027 and April 2029.
- Experience with object-oriented programming concepts.
- Exposure to C# and .NET.
- Basic SQL and database knowledge.
- Understanding of software development fundamentals.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Curiosity and a willingness to learn new technologies.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines.
Location & details#
- Location: Ada, Michigan.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Work Modality: Hybrid (Onsite Monday through Thursday, remote optional on Fridays).
- Employment: Full time, paid internship.
