About the role#
The Cybersecurity Engineering Intern supports the engineering team with technical documentation, requirements gathering, and process development. You will assist in maintaining security standards, procedures, and related security artifacts while working alongside senior engineers.
What you'll do#
- Create, organize, and maintain cybersecurity engineering documentation, including standards, procedures, diagrams, and knowledge articles.
- Document business, technical, and security requirements for various projects.
- Assist with the deployment, configuration, testing, and validation of cybersecurity tools.
- Maintain project documentation, including action items, implementation records, and status updates.
- Develop and maintain reports, metrics, and dashboards for cybersecurity initiatives.
- Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to collect information and track project issues or risks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited educational institution pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Completion of at least 1 year of undergraduate studies or sophomore status.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Understanding of basic cybersecurity concepts and industry practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

- Location: Washington, DC.
- Terms: Fall 2026 or Spring 2027.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $18.00 to $35.00 per hour, based on factors such as school year and program of study.
