About the role#
This internship is a 10-13 week program designed for graduate students to partner with finance leaders at Amgen. You will be placed on a team to complete a project tied to strategic and tactical goals. Throughout the summer, you will receive guidance from a manager, mentor, and the broader Amgen community. Successful completion of the program may lead to an evaluation for a full-time position.
What you'll do#
- Build technical and financial skills while working on a project for the finance organization.
- Gain insight into functional areas like Financial Planning & Analysis, Treasury, Accounting, Tax, Corporate Audit, and Corporate Services.
- Collaborate with fellow interns during a week-long multidisciplinary case study competition.
- Explore the use of data, automation, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies to improve financial reporting and decision-making.
- Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends and present recommendations to business partners.
- Engage with Amgen executives and senior leaders through meetings and networking events.
What you'll need#
- Age 18 or older.
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Current enrollment in an MBA, Master’s, PharmD, or Ph.D. program, with completion of the first year before the internship begins.
- A concentration in Economics, Business Administration, Biotechnology Management, Accounting, or Finance.
- Understanding of basic financial analytical principles.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- A team-oriented mindset for collaborating on complex assignments.
- Prior work experience in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industry is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, remote internship for Summer 2027.
- The pay range for this position is $35.34 - $41.20 per hour.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. for the duration of the program. Sponsorship for future full-time roles is not guaranteed.
