About the role#
This is a full-time summer internship based in Columbus, Ohio. You will join the Process Improvement team to work on real business challenges. You will gain experience by helping with projects, preparing reports, and suggesting solutions. This role reports to the Process Improvement unit and supports all AEP business units.
What you'll do#
- Conduct process and financial studies to improve labor efficiencies and drive value.
- Use technology and AI to build new tools and workflows.
- Analyze data and prepare statistical reports.
- Perform financial analyses to provide cost-saving recommendations to leadership.
- Create and deliver presentations for leadership regarding your project results.
- Engage with cross-functional teams and business partners.
- Learn about Lean Six Sigma tools and the company organizational structure.
What you'll need#
- Completion of your sophomore year in a 4-year degree program for Business, Finance, or Process Improvement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
