About the role#
As a Cybersecurity Intern, you will join the Cyber Operations team to gain experience in a corporate setting. You will work on projects focused on incident response, phishing, data loss prevention, application security, and AI security. You will also learn to define and document security processes. As part of this role, you will act as a first responder for cyber incidents and provide critical assessments of incident reports.
What you'll do#
- Learn the operations of the Cyber Operations security team.
- Participate in incident response, phishing, data loss prevention, and application security activities.
- Define and detail security processes and procedures.
- Act as a first responder for incoming cyber incidents.
- Provide critical assessments of cyber incident reports.
- Apply coursework knowledge to meaningful projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate rising senior graduating between December 2027 and Spring 2028.
- Enrolled in a degree program related to Cybersecurity, Information Security, Data Security, or AI Security.
- Passion for gaining experience in Information Security and Risk Management.
- Interest in Application Security.
- Ability to demonstrate company winning behaviors: customer focused, courageous and accountable, collaborative, curious and adaptable, and competitively driven.
Location & details#
- Location: Kansas City, Missouri.
- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Summer 2027 (June 2 through August 6).
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
- Eligibility: This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
