About the role#
As a Corporate Communications Intern, you will work alongside a team of professionals to learn about the financial services industry. This program provides formal training, mentoring, and the chance to contribute to real business projects over a 10-week period. You will gain hands-on experience in internal communications, public relations, and social media.
What you'll do#
- Write business and feature content for internal and external audiences.
- Align your work with company branding and messaging goals.
- Publish content on the employee-facing intranet site.
- Assist with planning the editorial calendar.
- Proof and edit content for accuracy.
- Support communications strategies and programs.
- Develop and distribute videos, photography, and other imagery.
- Track the consumption of content to measure impact.
- Provide creative perspective on team projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time undergraduate student (Sophomore, Junior, or Senior).
- A major in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- Strong writing skills with familiarity in AP Style guidelines.
- Ability to tell a story in a compelling way.
- A keen eye for detail.
- Confidence and resourcefulness to accept and incorporate feedback on your work.
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
- Aptitude to learn new intranet platforms and tools.
- Strategic problem-solving skills and excellent oral communication.
- Ability to provide work samples upon request.
Location & details#
- Location: Kansas City, Missouri.
- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Summer 2027 (June 2nd to August 6th).
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
