About the role#
We are looking for an Infrastructure Automation Engineer Intern to join our Infrastructure and Operations team. You will work in an enterprise IT environment to streamline operations and reduce manual tasks. This role focuses on applying software engineering principles to build scalable automation solutions. You will also have the opportunity to explore how artificial intelligence can improve operational efficiency and infrastructure health.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and deploy automation scripts and tools to support infrastructure operations.
- Collaborate with team members to identify repetitive tasks and propose new automation solutions.
- Support monitoring and alerting systems to improve visibility into infrastructure health.
- Participate in projects involving cloud services, virtualization, networking, and server management.
- Document technical configurations, processes, and automation workflows.
- Learn and apply best practices regarding security, change management, and IT operations.
What you'll need#
- You are an undergraduate student entering your senior year.
- You are pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- A basic understanding of infrastructure components like servers, networks, cloud platforms, and virtualization.
- Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and APIs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and an eagerness to learn.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

- Exposure to scripting or automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, Python, or Bash is a plus.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site position based in Kansas City, Missouri.
- The internship runs for 10 weeks, from June 2nd to August 6th, 2027.
- The schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm.
- This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. You must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
