About the role#
This internship provides undergraduate and graduate students with hands-on experience in public accounting. You will work within our tax teams to gain exposure to various industries and service niches. The program runs during the winter tax season from January to April.
What you'll do#
- Build a working knowledge of complex accounting and auditing concepts.
- Identify and communicate accounting matters to managers and senior associates.
- Review internal control systems, policies, and procedures.
- Examine and organize tax records and accounts.
- Calculate taxes owed based on current laws and regulations.
- Support the team with tax research, special projects, and studies.
What you'll need#
- An expected or completed Bachelor degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or Economics.
- Strong communication, research, and writing skills.
- A drive to learn and improve.
- Submission of unofficial undergraduate and graduate transcripts.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site position located in either Carlsbad or San Diego, California.
- The role is part-time, requiring an average of 25 hours per week, with a minimum of 20 hours.
- Compensation is $25.00 to $32.00 per hour.
- This is a paid, temporary, non-exempt position.
