About the role#
The Electrical Maintenance co-op supports the Electrical Maintenance and Reliability Engineering teams. You will help maintain accurate electrical system documentation, update drawings, and assist with preventive maintenance tasks that align with NFPA 70B standards. This role offers hands-on experience with industrial electrical systems, CMMS processes, and reliability practices within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
What you'll do#
- Support the development of preventive maintenance procedures and verify maintenance records.
- Assist in identifying critical electrical assets, maintenance priorities, and spare parts.
- Update equipment records in the CMMS system and verify asset tagging.
- Participate in root cause investigations regarding electrical failures.
- Review, update, and maintain electrical one-line diagrams, panel schedules, and equipment drawings.
- Compare field conditions against AutoCAD drawings and redline documents based on upgrades.
- Conduct facility walkdowns to verify labeling on breakers, panels, and transformers.
- Observe contractors and maintenance activities to ensure safety compliance.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited university for at least one semester before and after the co-op.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8/4.0.
- Authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis.
- Ability to commit to a full-time, 10-12 week summer schedule.
- Demonstrated leadership skills through projects or extracurricular activities.
- Basic understanding of industrial electrical systems and familiarity with electrical schematics.
- Experience with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills with the ability to work independently or in a team.
