    About the role#

    As a Gameplay Programming Intern at Beenox, you will join a multidisciplinary team to develop and refine game mechanics, control systems, and user interfaces for international AAA titles. Working under the supervision of a senior programmer or technical lead, you will apply engineering principles to create fluid and responsive player experiences.

    What you'll do#

    • Design, implement, and optimize gameplay features such as character movement, weapon systems, AI behaviors, and camera controls.
    • Collaborate with game designers and animators to translate creative visions into functional software systems.
    • Identify, analyze, and fix bugs related to gameplay and world interactions.
    • Write clean, maintainable code while optimizing for memory and CPU performance.
    • Contribute to the improvement of the internal game engine and production tools.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a bachelor or master degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
    • Strong foundation in C++ programming, including object-oriented design, memory management, and data structures.
    • Proficiency in linear algebra and 3D geometry as applied to video games.
    • A genuine interest in video games and a clear understanding of what makes gameplay feel responsive and enjoyable.

    • This internship is based in Montreal, Quebec.
    • The role requires 5 days of on-site work per week.
    • The term for this position is Winter 2027.
    • This is a paid, full-time internship.
