About the role#
Activision is seeking students for summer 2027 internships. You will work on meaningful projects that directly impact our teams. We provide the tools and resources for you to learn and grow. All interns participate in a 12-week program that requires on-site work at our office locations.
What you'll do#
- Build backend systems and tools to support data-driven optimization.
- Collaborate with engineers and content creators to analyze performance and streamline pipelines.
- Build and support custom tools that improve game development workflows.
- Contribute to scripting, automation, and front-end interfaces.
- Support technology and processes that power game releases.
- Partner with engineers to improve build pipelines and automate workflows.
- Work on developer tools, back-end hardware, and cloud infrastructure.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in an associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degree program, graduating between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Ability to participate in a 12-week internship starting in mid-May or mid-June.
- Proficiency in at least one common language such as C, C++, Go, Python, or Rust.
- Experience with software development tools including GitHub, Perforce, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with SQL, Spark, or Presto.
- Exposure to game engines like Unreal or Unity and debugging tools.
- Knowledge of front-end frameworks, web development, and cloud platforms like AWS or GCP.
- Understanding of source control, IDE and CLI-based workflows, and Windows or Linux internals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to reside in the US or relocate yourself to the US.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- Locations include Santa Monica, CA, Sherman Oaks, CA, and Portland, ME.
- Interns may be eligible for relocation assistance and a living stipend to cover housing, commuting, and utility costs.
