Northrop Grumman Internships: 2027 Guide

Northrop Grumman internships on 27 October 2026. 13 open roles in software, engineering, business, supply chain and manufacturing, and the citizenship rule.

Northrop Grumman internships on Intern Insider cover software, engineering, business, supply chain and manufacturing, and nearly all of them require United States citizenship. On 27 October 2026, the Northrop Grumman page lists 13 open internships, and 8 of them opened this week. Twelve of the 13 require United States citizenship. Eleven of those twelve tie that requirement to a United States government security clearance.

Eleven listings are marked Summer 2027 and one is marked Fall 2026. One of the 13, Mgr Electronics Engineering 1 - Ground Systems Intern Development Manager in Manhattan Beach, California, is a manager role for experienced engineers, not a student internship.

Terms, cities and eligibility lines below come from the postings listed on Intern Insider that day, except where a sentence names a page on northropgrumman.com. The posting you apply through is the final word on its own terms.

What Northrop Grumman internships look like in 2027#

The Northrop Grumman company page describes Northrop Grumman as a defense and space manufacturing company founded in 1994 and headquartered in Falls Church, Virginia. The about section says the company operates globally, maintains a workforce of over 86,000 employees, and focuses on autonomous systems, cyber security, space and logistics. The same page lists company size as 10,001+ employees.

The students and early career page lists an Internship Program, entry-level positions, and a Future Technical Leaders program for science, technology, engineering and mathematics graduates. Future Technical Leaders is a rotational program for graduates. It is not one of the open internship listings. The careers page says the company hosts in-person and virtual recruiting events for professionals, military candidates and veterans, and students. The security clearances page says the majority of jobs require a person to acquire and maintain a security clearance, and that United States citizenship is required in most cases. It lists not being a United States citizen as something that can disqualify a person.

Two student listings have an apply-by date of 31 October 2026 or later:

    When and how to apply#

The Beavercreek listing is the one student posting here with an employer deadline, 11 November 2026. Each posting has an Apply Now button, and the Northrop Grumman page is the list to use on the day you apply.

Northrop Grumman describes its own process on the hiring process page. That page lays out application, screening, interviews, offer and onboarding. Screening, when it happens, is a phone call with a recruiter. Interviews are further conversations with potential teammates, the hiring manager and team leadership. The page says that because of application volume, hiring teams do not confirm that they reviewed an application and do not give individualized feedback. It describes pre-onboarding as a background check, drug screening and verification of a security clearance. For external candidates, the page says to sign in to Job Hub or create an account, upload a resume, open a posting and submit the application there.

The students and early career page links to an intern search on the Northrop Grumman job site. Our analysis of when internship postings close compares posted deadlines with the dates postings closed, and our guide to summer 2027 internships and when applications open covers the wider timeline.
