About the role#
We are looking for a Co-op Student to join our Protein Production team. You will support experimental studies related to the expression and characterization of recombinant proteins. This role reports to the Senior Research Associate and is based in our Vancouver laboratory. This is a full-time, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Maintain mammalian cell cultures and perform transient protein expressions.
- Assist with recombinant protein characterization using SDS-PAGE and BLI quantitation.
- Support the plasmid preparation workflow.
- Maintain accurate records of methods and raw data.
- Evaluate data and summarize results for team presentations.
- Manage laboratory consumables and reagents.
- Contribute to routine laboratory maintenance and follow safety regulations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program in Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related discipline.
- Availability for a co-op term of at least 8 months.
- Experience with cell culture and aseptic technique.
- Knowledge of recombinant protein expression.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a cross-functional team.

- Compensation: $21.00 CAD per hour.
