About the role#
Zipline is looking for interns to join our Embedded Systems team. You will work on autonomous aircraft and ground systems, helping to solve complex problems in flight and delivery. You will work with cross-functional partners to develop solutions that scale our operations. This role involves taking ownership of technical projects, defining system requirements, and using data to prove that your solutions meet the demands of real-world deployment.
What you'll do#
- Design and develop software platforms for flight and ground delivery systems.
- Develop firmware for real-time coprocessors and manage high-frequency signal I/O.
- Validate hardware performance using HIL testing and simulation to model worst-case scenarios.
- Develop and test data analysis tools to verify telemetry and system reliability.
- Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineering teams to prototype and refine next-generation flight systems.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
- Completed at least the second year of undergraduate studies.
- Proficiency in C, C++, Python, or Rust.
- Experience developing software for a real-time operating system or embedded Linux.
- Familiarity with electrical engineering concepts including schematics, oscilloscope debugging, and communication protocols like CAN, SPI, and UART.
