About the role#
Ziegler Caterpillar offers a hands-on internship program for students pursuing careers in diesel and heavy equipment mechanics. You will gain practical experience in our shop environment while working alongside senior technicians who provide mentorship and professional guidance. This is a part-time, paid position based in Bloomington, Minnesota.
What you'll do#
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairing heavy diesel engines, construction equipment, and agricultural machinery.
- Learn to address customer needs in a timely, positive, and supportive manner.
- Work with senior technicians to develop your mechanical skills.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment at all times.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 2-year degree program focused on diesel engine mechanics, construction equipment, or agricultural equipment.
- A history of good grades and positive recommendations from your instructors.
- A positive attitude and a commitment to working well within a team.
- Your own set of mechanic tools.
- Ability to meet physical requirements including lifting up to 60 lbs and pushing or pulling up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to pass a drug test, as this role is safety-sensitive.

- Employment type: Part-time.
- Starting wage: $21.00 per hour.
