About the role#
Youth Guidance offers internships designed to meet school requirements for practicum, capstone, or related coursework. You will gain experience through direct, face-to-face client interaction while receiving regular supervision. This role is based in school settings, though some virtual or community-based work may occur. Interns participate in weekly supervision and monthly team meetings to support their professional development.
What you'll do#
- Observe, co-facilitate, or lead group and individual counseling sessions depending on your skill level.
- Conduct assessments for youth involved in our programs.
- Provide family and crisis intervention.
- Complete weekly documentation and administrative tasks.
- Attend staff development sessions and required training.
- Join organizational committees as assigned or based on your interests.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an internship, practicum, or capstone class.
- Pursuing a degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
- Ability to perform onsite learning with regular supervision.
